Izzy Lopez: Keeping It Official

Izzy Lopez is a model, musician, and most importantly a father. A few days ago he was nice enough to let us interview him. Here’s what we thought you may wanna know about this up and coming star…
1) How did you get your start?
“I began modeling in the beginning of 2015. Starting by modeling for a popular street boutique in  Austin, TX “Collective Status“. The photographer “Kick Back” (@Kickback.ent) encouraged me to  continue modeling and reaching for whatever i wanted from it. Ultimately, I took a trip to Los Angeles,  connecting with brands “FlashXHype“, and “Popular Demand“. getting my start with them i was able  to expand my exposure through social media and a lot of future work came from the audiences these  brands made me available to. The rest is history……”
2) Is the name Izzy short for anything?
“Izzy is short for Israel. I go by Izzy in remembrance of my late uncle Felix Angel Alicea`, by the 4th  grade i only used Izzy. My uncle played a big part in my ambitious and driven side, i was later able to  completely harness. I joined the Army immediately after high school. I was motivated by his constant  fight for veterans affairs. He was always at protests, the opening of the Veterans Hospital in Orlando,  and many other affairs.”
3) Who’s your biggest inspiration?
“My great grandfather is my biggest inspiration. He turns 100 this year and he’s always inspired me to  live my life to the fullest. He dropped out of high school to raise and support his brothers and sisters,  Living in Puerto Rico. I was often told this story amongst other amazing stories of his courage. He  inspires me to this day. Every day that i get to see him playing with my 3 year old son Jaden is truly a  blessing.
 4) Who’s your favorite designer?
“I honestly can’t choose just one. Some of my favorites include Alexander Wang, Yohji Yamamoto,  Pharrell Williams, and Gianni Versace.”

5) What’s the most exciting gig you’ve booked that you can remember?
“I loved working with on “How deep is your love?” w/ talents such as Gigi Hadid, “Slick” bone breaker,  Chinx & Hob Dot. Was one of my first experiences in LA but definitely one of my favorites.”
6) What do you usually do for fun?
“I like to play soccer, watch movies, listen to music, DJ, and bartend.”
 7) What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?
“My biggest achievement so far would have to be just being a father honestly. My son is everything to  me and he keeps me humble and appreciative.”
8) What advice would you give to ppl trying to make it in your industry? I.e. what’s the first step they should take to be successful?
“Honestly it all starts with a good inner circle. Quality over quantity; having a solid inner circle will  keep you positive and motivated. Both are needed to make it in any industry.”
9) Where do you see yourself 5 yrs from now?
“I see myself successful in the fashion world. whether it is modeling, designing, or just being an  inspiration for someone to feed off of.”
10) If you could go back in time and do anything over again, what would that be?
“I would go back to the last time me and all of my siblings were together. we went to Disney World in  Orlando, Florida before i actually moved there.”
