Stranger Things Season 4 Release Date Announced

Stranger Things Season 4 Release Date Announced

“Stranger Things” series creators, the Duffer Brothers, released an open letter to the series’ fans Thursday announcing release dates for season 4.

The new season conquers something that has never ben done before in the “Stranger Things” world — there are two volumes to season 4. With a run time almost twice as long as any other season, the creator’s said it was their most challenging production yet.

“With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one,” the letter said. “Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

Premiere Dates

The Duffer Brothers also announced that season 4 is the second to last season of the show. They plan to release Volume One on May 27 and Volume Two on July 1.

The fourth season arrives almost three years after season 3. This is partly because of the COVID-19 pandemic and partly because season 4 is going to be so in-depth.

Teasers

Netflix teased a fourth season in the summer of 2021 and confirmed the show was back in production in May. There were two teasers shared in August and September, with the teaser in September focusing on the “Creel House.” The 90-second preview featured the now-abandoned Creel House in Hawkins, Indiana where it seems something tragic happened. The teaser shows the “Stranger Things” kids breaking into the house and investigating it, but viewers are unsure why.

It has been confirmed for two years that a “Stranger Things” season 4 was on its way. Now fans are finally getting a finalized premiere day. In Feb. 2020, a teaser was released that resolved season three’s biggest cliff hanger — is Hopper alive?

As the premiere of season 4 approaches, fans of the show wait in anticipation for more teasers and trailers to give them an idea of what to expect in the second to last season.
