Series Releases In April

Several fan-favorite series are making their return in April. Here is a list of the best series releases in April to look out for. These shows are likely to receive awards at the Emmys in September, so be sure to check them out.

Ozark

“Ozark” returns April 29 on Netflix, completing the final season of the show. There are still several questions waiting to be answered, which will hopefully be addressed in the final seven episodes. There is hope that “Ozark” will be incredibly popular and captivating among viewers if the other seasons are any indication. With the first half of the final season pitting every member of the Byrd family against each other, it will be exciting to see how these disputes are resolved. Laura Linney, Jason Bateman, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner and Julia Garner return for one last appearance. Viewers are impatiently waiting to see how the series wraps up. Here is the trailer

Better Call Saul

This series is the prequel to the popular crime drama “Breaking Bad” and is a great addition to the series releases in April to look out for. The show follows Jimmy McGill, played by Bob Odenkirk. McGill is a lawyer who later becomes a con man using his abilities to help criminal clients. Similarly to “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul” has slowly but surely gotten better as the series continues. Creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who created both “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul,” have made some of the best television shows to date. The show is on AMC and AMC+ with weekly releases beginning April 18. Netflix releases season six at a later date. Here is the trailer

Barry

Last, but certainly not least, the third season of “Barry” releases on HBO. The dark comedy follows Barry Berkman, played by Bill Hader. He is a retired hitman who takes acting classes in Los Angeles and ends up earning an Emmy for his performance. Because of its plot, this show can be put alongside antihero series. Season three releases weekly episodes starting April 22 on HBO and HBO Max. Here is the season three teaser.
