‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’

‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” releases in theaters, reeling in incredibly positive reviews. This comedy and adventure film has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and seems to be a must-watch for anyone interested in original content. Here is the trailer for the film.

Plot

This film features Evelyn Wang, played by Michelle Yeoh. Wang is a Chinese immigrant who is wrapped up in adventure, exploring different universes and connecting with other lives she could have led. She single-handedly needs to save the world this way. This sci-fi/adventure/comedy is creatively original, which is not something film buffs have seen in a while.

The film is a lot, which makes sense because of its title. However, it portrays everything, everywhere, all at Once very well. Firstly, to give some more background, Wang’s husband, Waymond, played by Ke Huy Quan, wants a divorce. Secondly, Wang’s daughter Joy, played by Stephanie Hsu, has a girlfriend who she is trying to get her mother to accept. To top it off, Wang has to meet with an IRS agent, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, as she is facing foreclosure on her laundromat. Amid saving her business, she is trying to throw a party for the Chinese New Year.

Review

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” was surprisingly good. It was enjoyable to watch such a creative and refreshing film, taking a new approach. There was also so much humor, throwing it into the comedy category while also being adventurous and science fiction. I love the aspect the film took on portraying a multigenerational Asian-American story. The film is really whatever you choose to focus on the most, making it enjoyable for almost everyone.

The positive reviews and many interesting different universes and characters make this film a must-watch for any film buff. The film encompasses several different genres and is likely to have something intriguing for viewers.
