How To Bring Summer Staples Into Winter

How To Bring Summer Staples Into Winter

As temperatures become frigid, deserting your sense of style is needless. While most of one’s winter wardrobe staples are sweats, some find it hard to find parallelism between warmth and fashion. Perhaps I could suggest that you can still wear your fashion-forward summer essentials during the winter months by simply layering. Layering is key to wearing any summer garment during the colder seasons, and it isn’t unknown to the fashion world. In recent shows at Milan Fashion Week, layering was crucial to the success of many runway ensembles.

Summer Shorts

Shorts and thigh or knee-high boots are a savior to save you from unexpected winds. The boots help to keep you warm and can be worn with leg warmers underneath. Not to mention, boots are a popular trend that elevates any look. Regardless of whether you’re going for a street style look or a sleek/chic look, boots and shorts will take your outfit there! Another fashion-forward way of keeping warm while wearing shorts is to pair them with tights, whether they’d be printed or solid. Tights with shorts are a classic and timeless trend.

Summer Dresses & Skirts

We love showing off our body and impressive figures with tight-fitting bodycon dresses and mini skirts, but there has always been the battle between cute and warmth in the winter. In 2022 where the long puffer and trench coat exists, the challenge is non-existent. Pairing skirts and dresses with long-line outerwear and boots have become a new street-wear trend everyone is raving over. Just as we did with the shorts, you can layer tights under your dresses and skirts for added warmth.

Graphic Tees

While no one ever actually abandons graphics tees, there are numerous ways to make them a part of winter apparel. For a more casual look, one might layer a graphic tee on top of a turtleneck; for a more elevated look, one might layer a blazer over a graphic tee. Graphic tees are very versatile, even during the colder months.

Of course, there are several other summer staples you could transform into your winter wardrobe. Fashion is less about matching and more about coordination; play around with different textures, colors, and patterns while layering. Stay warm and in vogue!
