Thrifting is nothing new to society–in fact, it’s been around quite literally forever. There are so many places you can go to get clothing somebody has already worn: in fact, it’s the cool thing to do nowadays. Why buy something new that’s probably a lot more expensive, when you could just buy something similar and pay half the price for it?

Chicago is thrift shop central–there are multiple thrift shops in some shape or form in almost every neighborhood where you can get your hands on cool items. But if you’re a t-shirt and streetwear junkie, this place needs to be at the top of your bucket list when visiting Chicago.

Life of Vintage

Life of Vintage is a quaint store in one of Chicago’s neighborhood Lakeview. This shop went viral on TikTok for it’s vintage-streetwear t-shirts that are one-of-a-kind–and I’m not talking a random shirt from someone’s construction company. From $25-$40, these shirts range from vintage concert t-shirts, to vintage Nike, to vintage movies, to vintage sports teams logos, to funny logos. The shop even has some crewnecks, quarter zips, and jackets. You could spend hours looking at these color-coded racks. Let’s just say, you won’t find these t-shirts at your local Salvation Army.

Open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s only, the owner, @senorshan is a tax accountant and restocks their racks every weekend–so don’t worry, there’s always an opportunity to snag a cool t-shirt.

With street style and streetwear prominent now more than ever, Life of Vintage is the coolest, and most sustainable way to shop when it comes to thrifting. It’s even covid safe, as the shop only lets in a certain amount of people, and disinfects the shirts and store regularly.

Check out their Instagram for updates on new shirts they have every weekend!
