AMI PARIS SS23 at Seoul Fashion Week
AMI Paris Spring/Summer 2023 collection took place at Seoul Fashion Week in the South Korean capital, which is a special show outside of Paris. Meanwhile, the Seoul Fashion Week off-line shows reopened after around a three-year hiatus.
On the first day of Seoul Fashion Week, AMI’s first international show since the pandemic was held at Gwanghwamun Square, the heart of South Korea’s history and culture. The landmark combines cultural and historical buildings creating the perfect mix between tradition and modernity.
In this iconic place, the models walked the fantastic outdoor runway with a slight mirror effect. While the show space was full of fabulous light and views as well as the spirit and vibe of the city.
“This show is a way to thank our Korean friends for their fidelity and at the same time, it is an honor to be able to present our collections outside our Paris hometown to such an avant-garde and passionate audience,” said creative director Alexandre Mattiussi in a press release.
The casting of models was a variety of personalities, from professional models to street-casted models, just like AMI’s other shows in Paris.
Themed by a retro 60s vibe, the collection was rich, sexy, and eclectic in versatile color palette, the brand’s signature. Mattiussi expressed the iconic allure and free-spirited mood of Paris, embracing its distinct joie-de-vivre and Parisian soul.
Meanwhile, the graphics are refreshing in cut and proportion, whilst the silhouettes are pure and uncomplicated. Also, the collection unveiled exclusive additional pieces, specially designed for the South Korean market.
A monochromatic look started the collection – oversized white tuxedos, a white shirt, and mini shorts with a petite navy paisley scarf. Various looks styled with tailored jackets dominated the runway. From navy tuxedos to leather jackets, the looks mix casual outfits with cargo pants and washed jeans and T-shirts. A pinstripe blazer is paired with a preppy argyle sweater and sequined pants in separate looks. The colorful cute scarf adds a Parisian mood to the collection.
In addition, AMI Paris opened its first Korean flagship store in Seoul last month.
