A Surfeit of “Elf On the Shelf” Coming to Netflix

The second top video-streaming platform has scored a deal with The Lumistella Company. The Atlanta-based company has given Netflix AV-rights to create original stories from all of its brands.

Netflix will be creating live-action and animated productions. Their goal is to cater to pre-school and family audiences.

“As part of the deal, two of Lumistella’s existing animated short films, Elf Pets: Santa’s Reindeer Rescue and Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale will be on Netflix in North America this holiday season,” according to Deadline.

Original creators Carol Aebersold, Chanda Bell and Christa Pitts will still take part, being the executive producers of the project. Roy Lee (The Lego Movie) and Miri Yoon (The Stand) from Vertigo Entertainment will be producers as well.

Elf On The Shelf has been a Christmas classic for years, and had even become a meme in more recent times.

The rhyme scheme in the book led social media users today to make their own rhymes. Some were creative, others were flat out hysterical.

Some stories that will be re-created include “The Elf on the Shelf,” “Elf Pets,” and “Elf Mates.” All of their future projects will be turned into TV series and/or specials and movies.
