RAEGAN is Next Up

RAEGAN has come back with a new emotionally charged and introspective track, “WALTZ”. Inspired by her personal journey of self-discovery and the challenges faced while coming out as gay, the 20-year-old alt-pop artist poured her raw emotions into a song that beautifully captures her experiences and inner turmoil. We got the opportunity of getting to know Raegan and seeing what is next for the artist.

Hello Raegan, it is a pleasure to interview you. First, we would love to know where you are from?

Hiiii it’s an honor!!! I’m from Miami and currently live in New York City.

What inspired you to get into singing?

I’ve been singing literally since I could talk. I started off doing musical theatre for most my childhood and I went to high school for acting. Around my sophomore year of high school I started writing my own music and focusing on that.

When did you know this was not only a passion of yours, but something that would make you very successful?

I always had probably a delusion confidence in myself so I always thought i’d be successful from my music. But as I started getting older and better, I started to realize that I could actually really do something with my music.

What was the very first song you wrote & how was that creative process?

The first song I ever wrote was “I broke ur heart because I wanted to” and I literally was just sitting in my room messing around with youtube type beats. I went to my local studio, recorded it and released it on Soundcloud.

If you could collaborate with one artist that fits your style of music, who would it be and why?

Probably Tyler, the creator because I feel like the process and studio session would be very collaborative and creative.

When was your first performance and how did you prepare for it?

My first performance was actually like a week ago and I practiced everyday for about a week  before it. I actually didn’t even do as well as I had hoped but it was an amazing learning experience and I can’t wait to perform again.

What is next for Raegan?

My EP “FUCK RAEGAN” is releasing in the next month or two and i’m shooting some videos for it!

What advice can you give those who are following in your footsteps and are looking for representation?

Literally just make music for you and don’t even think about an audience, everything will come as long as you’re authentic to who you are and doing what you love.
