Music Video

Kaytranada released a new song yesterday with Anderson .Paak titled “Twin Flame” along with a music video for it. It’s not the first time the pair have collabed. The two have worked with each other back in 2016. On Kaytranada’s debut album “99.9%”, Anderson .Paak featured on the song “GLOWED UP”.

In the music video, it shows both of the artists performing a set at a make-shift concert. In the music video, it has them both performing on a stage hanging above people dancing to their music. It depicts a sort of rave going on in a warehouse, which looks to be a secret location because of the small amount of people. Anderson .Paak melodically raps through Kaytranada’s beat, which isn’t all in your face but gets you grooving with it.

Tours

Kaytranada is currently on tour with fellow Canadian artist The Weeknd. The Canadian DJ is one of three opening acts for The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour. The other two openers are Swedish singer Snoh Aalegra and Producer Mike Dean. The tour has been well underway starting back on July 8th and ending on September 3 in Los Angeles.

Kaytranada also finished a tour of his own in 2021, traveling various parts of North America. He performed in big cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, Toronto, Houston, and his hometown Montreal.

Possible Album?

It will be interesting to see if this new single means a new album is in the works for Kaytranada. His last project was a 3-pack EP released last year titled “Intimidated” featuring H.E.R., Thundercat, and Mach-Hommy. His last album was back in 2019 titled “Bubba” which was well received by many and won a Grammy as well for “Best Dance/Electronic Album”. With Kaytranada’s name continuing to grow as the days go by, he’ll certainly have more pull power to attract the bigger names of music to feature on his beats.
