Power Couple Wedding Is On The Way!

Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe are engaged to be married. Yet, during their blissful time, they are still encouraging their fans to go out and vote in this year’s election.

Meghan Rapinoe and Sue Bird announced their engagement through Instagram on Friday. Not only that, the power duo joined the Get Out The Vote phone banking event to encourage voters to participate in the election, which is hosted by Victory 2020. Rapinoe and Bird managed to encourage 150 people, who are primarily from Washington. They started by calling key states and talking to the democratic voters personally.

They made their calls on behalf of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Even to this day, they still question if their activism is worth it and will be enough to change the future. Sue Bird, 40, who has four Olympic Gold medals and four WNBA championships behind her belt, said:

“It is. Everything we’re doing, it’s worth it. It’s beyond worth it. It has an impact. And it’s making such a huge difference

Megan Rapinoe’s opinion about Trump hasn’t changed from the days when she spoke out against him during the 2020 FIFA World Cup in France. A lot of people have questioned her outspokenness, however she stood strong. Being an Olympic soccer champion and a back to back World Cup champion, she knows how to be strong and stand her ground. For her, this election is more than just about Trump. In her eyes, this election is about the dignity of America and its citizens and also about its future. If people are going to make a certain choice, then they will also have to face the consequences. Rapinoe brought back her famous quote from her well known speech from the World Cup Parade:

“Something that we always talk about and that we always say is that everybody has a responsibility to do something to make the world a better place in whatever way they can be most impactful,” she said. “And this is you guys’ way right now. This is everyone’s way right now. We have to call people, we have to excite people.”
