‘Podcast P’ Takes Over Podcasting

Los Angeles Clippers forward, Paul George, is taking over the sports podcasting scene with “Podcast P.” George feels that public perception of him is not accurate. He wants to change the narrative and incite people to truly view him as he is – both as a player and person.

The podcast is co-hosted by George’s friends, Dallas Rutherford and actor Jackie Long. “Podcast P” is the best sports show on YouTube to watch right now, because of the many guests that stop by. NBA players such as the Chicago Bulls guard Demar DeRozan, the Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green, the Los Angeles Clippers guard Terrance Mann, and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, have all been guests on “Podcast P.”

George’s podcast gives you insight into what playing in the NBA is like. He talks about how the league has changed over time since he has been in the league. George was drafted in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. George thrived in his seven seasons with Indiana, averaging 18.1 points, 3.7 assists, and 6.4 rebounds. The play style of the NBA changed drastically during George’s playing career. A majority of teams in the league have big men that are players and shoot threes. The pace of the game is much faster now.

Guest Insight

Players come on the podcast, and give insights beyond the NBA. Demar DeRozan came on the podcast to talk about the importance of mental health. He has been on campaigns with the NBA, regarding the necessity and importance of people prioritizing and taking care of their mental health. DeRozan has shared that he himself struggles with mental health as a leader on his team, claiming that when the team is not doing well he tends to direct all criticism towards himself to handle it. It certainly becomes stressful for DeRozan, and he hopes to live and get closer to a complaint-free life in the future.

There are also people like Golden State Warriors guard, Klay Thompson, who talks about being a fan of the game and what it is like to play against his idol. Thompson idolized the Hall of Famer, Kobe Bryant. He shared on the podcast that the first time playing against Kobe he made sure to have a good game because he wanted to impress him. Thompson scored 14 points shooting 6-for-8 from the field. George’s podcast provides listeners with stories they never heard before, from players and others. “Podcast P” is a great podcast that everyone should listen to.
