Astros Trey Mancini becomes a fan favorite in his first few games

Former Orioles outfielder and first baseman Trey Mancini was one of the newcomers who recently joined the Houston Astros before the trade deadline Monday, August 1. He has quickly become a fan favorite and proved to the Astros that they made the right decision.
Mancini hit two home runs in his first two starts for Houston, just like he did when he started with the Baltimore Orioles. This made him the first modern MLB player to hit a homerun in his first two starts with his first two MLB teams, according to StatsBySTATS on Twitter. On the same night he hit his second home run with the Astros he hit a grand slam to help his team win against the Cleveland Guardians 9-3.
In his first start with the Astros Mancini has proven that he will be a great addition to the team. As of right now he has a total of 42 runs, 99 hits, and 48 RBI’s with a batting average of .266 for the season. Despite dealing with strikeouts like every other MLB batter, Mancini looks like he will be a steady hitter for Houston. The Astros have utilized Mancini at first base, but he also dabbled in left field. So fans will see if the Astros will strengthen him in their outfield.
Mancini made his professional baseball debut with the Orioles in 2016 as a designated hitter. Mancini was a strong hitter for the Orioles where he set new records for himself and his team. He is the first Oriole to hit a pinch-hit homer in the 9th inning or in extra innings and hit another homer in the same game. Mancini was absent during the 2020 season when he was battling stage 3 colon cancer.

After undergoing chemotherapy he announced later that year he was cancer free and would be playing again for the Orioles in the 2021 season. His first time up at bat in the 2021 season he received a standing ovation from the crowd, his teammates, and the Boston Red Sox whom he was competing against. In 2021 he accepted the American League Comeback Player of the Year Award.
