Memphis Made Rapper Snootie Wild Passes Away
Prominent rapper and singer LePreston Porter, better known for his stage name Snootie Wild passed away on February 26, 2022 at the age of 36 after being shot Friday evening in Houston, Texas.
Authorities arrived at the scene of the crime shortly after being alerted of a gunshot. While the police were on the hunt for evidence, paramedics performed CPR on Wild before hastily taking him to the hospital where his condition was critical.

As the Memphis made rapper was fighting for his life, it came to light that a neighbor caught the entire fatal altercation on camera. Due to substantial evidence, authorities believe Wild unintendedly drove his SUV into a ditch where he was speedily approached by another vehicle.
“It looks like he backed in there (the ditch) accidentally. Then the other vehicle pulled up, and folks got out of the car,” said officer R. Willkens.
Investigators believe a man and woman exited their car and engaged in a brief conversation with the CMG Label signee. After a momentary exchange of words an abrupt gun shot went off.

The family were regrettably informed that Porter on had a 50/50 chance at living after receiving a bullet wound to the neck. The Memphis native held on to his life for 24 hours before passing.
Once family members had the heart wrenching medical update, they took the news to social media to make fans aware of Porter’s state of being. The musical artist’s team shared a photo of him on his personal Instagram page with a caption stating, “Gone in body, but your NAME & LEGACY will live forever! #TeamYayo4Life.”

A statement that truly holds an immense amount of weight as the renowned rapper and singer will always be remember for some of his greatest hits such as Yayo featuring Yo Gotti, She’s a Keeper featuring August Alsina and Yo Gotti, and more. Snootie was also in the midst of releasing a new track called “Respect” as he was not done making his mark in the industry.
Family and friends have received a massive amount of love during this troubling time. Authorities are still tirelessly searching for the suspected man and woman, but no arrests have been made at this time.
