SOREL x Proenza Schouler
Womenswear and accessory brand Proenza Schouler collaborated with footwear brand SOREL. The product: a limited edition collection including six pairs of mules and boots. Ultimately, this collaboration bridges the gap between style and functionality. It takes functional footwear and combines it with modern elegance.
Since 2002, Proenza Schouler’s collections have had an emphasis on luxury and the modern woman. The founders, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, met at Parsons School of Design. The CFDA awarded the brand in 2003, 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013. Furthermore, it is an exquisite brand and its garments prove this. Similarly, the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection offered the same elegance and grace as collections past.
The Collection
Proenza Schouler Spring/Summer 2025 embraced the minimalist side of fashion. For instance, look seven was simplistic and well styled. The top flowed loosely as the lines of the blouse turned to the ground. The black pants with the gold buttons hung low on the model. Though these pieces weren’t form fitting, they still kept the models shape all the way down the runway. Finally, a cream colored bag and white, low-heeled shoes completed the look. This season’s collection found beauty in simplicity.
In contrast, look 23 included a pair of mules from the collaboration between the brand and SOREL. Though functional, the footwear fit perfectly in with the rest of the pieces.
The Collaboration
As seen above, look 23 included the Caribou Women’s Mule. The color of the footwear matched the flowing skirt the model wore. The mules are waterproof and have a thick tread on the bottom. They are both stylish and meant for everyday wear. Clearly, functionality isn’t a problem for SOREL. In addition, the shoes are constructed with full grain leather, creating a glowing shine.
The mules, as part of this collaboration, are available in three colors: Black, Golden Ochre, and Chalk. They are still elegant even in the pouring rain. Weather is no match for these limited edition shoes. Simply put, SOREL and Proenza Schouler modernized the classic mule shoe.
This collaboration between SOREL and Proenza Schouler combined luxury style and functionality. These limited edition mules and Chelsea boots show how talented and skilled the teams at each of the brands are. This footwear collection brought practicality back to the runway.
