Son Jung Wan’s “Harmony” Collection Stuns NYFW ’23

Son Jung Wan debuted their Spring 2024 collection, “Harmony,” on Saturday, September 9th. The entire collection was whimsical and stunning–no two pieces looked exactly the same. With themes of elegant silk, frills, and florals, Wan has fully embodied spring in the best way possible.

About “Harmony”

The company’s press release describes the collection as, “Inspired by the beauty of natural motions, ‘Harmony’ personifies humanity in its most artistic form. Through ruffles, light silk, organza, chiffon and mesh, the collection introduces powerful silhouettes that also have a delicate gentleness about them. Building upon one another, these unique silhouettes become a rich tapestry of colors, textures and patterns that exemplify the movements of creatures that roam the Earth, the essence of the waves, and the graceful and natural flowing motions of the elements and world around us. Son Jung Wan breathes life into ‘Harmony’ through the beautiful ebb and flow of her designs that are further displayed through the collection’s thoughtfully curated color palette made up of Fondant Pink, Cyber Lime, Nutshell, Elemental Blue, and Radiant Red.”

Fabulous Florals

Many of the womens looks worked in tandem with the mens version. For example, Look 6 and Look 7 each feature pink floral designs with petals that give the piece a three-dimensional feel. There was movement in the piece as the models walked by, almost as if the leaves were blowing in the wind. Coupled with emerald green pants mimicking grass, the shades worked together in harmony.

Classical Elegance

Tulle filled the runway as well. Look 17 highlights Wan’s ability to embody the graceful nature of waves in a polished manner. The silver color adds an element of trendiness to the piece, but paired with the organza material instantly made the look classic. The model effortlessly strutted down the runway with the piece freely moving with her.
