“Outs” For The Summer

“Outs” For The Summer

The summer trends are beginning to circle in: ballet flats, micro shorts, linen, and stripes (to name a few). While these trends are starting to make an appearance in everyone’s wardrobe, there are few trends that are starting to make an appearance in the donation pile. Here is a guide on what not to wear for this summertime season, or as some people call it, the “outs” for the summer.

Maxi Denim Skirts

We saw a lot of the maxi denim skirts last summer and they were always pretty controversial style wise. Some people thought they were cute with a tank or a button down while others thought they were to “grandma” and belonged stored away in the closet. While they were cute and stylish in some instances, they don’t belong in this summer’s trend forecast. To swap out the maxi denim skirts, mini skirts are in and will be seen plenty for this upcoming season.

Coquette

There is nothing wrong with coquette. The “girly-girl” style is still in full swing, however it will just be toned down a notch. Bows, corsets, and over-the-top pink are out, and a more laid back floral and delicate vibe will be in.

Capri Pants

Something more controversial than the maxi denim skirts are the capris. Again, some people think they are bringing back an old trend to light in a new, fun and fresh way while others think it should be kept in the dark. Solution? Keep them out altogether. Swap them with fun, long pants or even long jean shorts. Capris are a trend that died a good death.

While summer is the perfect season to express however you want to dress, there are a few trends that will never see the light of day again. New and improved style will be cycling in to say goodbye to maxi denim skirts, coquette bows, and capris.
