The Met Gala’s Most Show Stopping Beauty Looks

The Superbowl of fashion is historically only simply the celebration of fashion, art, and culture, but also showcases some of fashion’s most daring and exquisite beauty looks. Celebrities and influencers alike set the tone for beauty’s upcoming trends at the 2024 Met Gala, giving a sneak peak of what to expect in upcoming seasons. From bold blushes to old Hollywood glamour, attendees for the first Monday in May did not disappoint.

Zendaya

Emmy-award winning actress and 2024 Met Gala co-chair Zendaya completed both of her show stopping Maison Margiela by John Galliano ensembles with ethereal glamour. The look was bold and haunting, with a deep maroon lip and smoky eyes, courtesy of Dame Pat Mcgrath; it resembles the viral makeup seen on models walking for Maison Margiela Couture back in February, sans the porcelain skin. Zendaya’s updo, done by her hairstylist Ursula Stephens, was fashioned with a birdcage veil and hat which was inspired by the shape of a calla lily according to Stephens.

Taraji P. Henson

Actress Taraji P. Henson was ethereal in her custom Johnathan Simkhai gown, but the conspicuous nature of her beauty was quite striking. The makeup look, by Saisha Beecham, drew upon the pastel colors on the subtle notes of pink in Henson’s gown. But the accompanying hairstyle is what truly completes the overall look. Hairstylist Tym Wallace created the floral and jeweled topknot updo using products from Henson’s own brand, TPH by Taraji, which Wallace says is inspired by Diana Ross and Minnie Riperton.

Anok Yai

Anok Yai suited Monday night up in a full-body crystallized jumpsuit by Swarovski, with three cascading blue tones displaying an ombre effect. The model’s glam, done by Sheika Daley, completed the look with a subtle luminescence and a captivating blue highlighting glow. Yai’s eye’s draw you in with the smokey, winged liner and a silver-white eyeshadow on the inner corners of her eyes. Yai’s hair was a slicked pixie cut, done by hairstylist Jawara.

Quannah Chasinghorse

Alaskan model Quannah Chasinghorse did a subtle interpretation of the night’s theme and dress code, while paying homage to her heritage. The dainty lavender-periwinkle eyeshadow on her lids complements the statement gown, which is said to be inspired by the bloom of a flower – specifically Alaska’s state, flower the forget-me-not. Chasinghorse’s makeup was done by Katey Denno and her hair was styled by John Paul Mitchell. The indigenous hairstyle was complete with traditional native art in the form of beaded hair pins.
