Ka Wa Key F/W 2021/Jarno Leppanen

Ka Wa Key’s lookbook video is unsettling and surreal with long no-blinking stares from models, static screens, and glitches. The clothing items themselves are avant-garde, colorful, and distinctive. Looks consist of pattern mixing, striped flare pants, long scarves, and knit wear. On Runway360 this collection is described as “Observes the duality of the imagination and reality inspired by larger than life characters and their dual personalities.”

They are seen wearing beanies, plaid jackets, button-up shirts and baggy trousers.  On the collections Runway360 page the brand writes, “During a time of dire need to rebuild our communities while we are forced to be apart, we must reimagine our normalcy and embrace the simplistic ways of staying connected.”

Stan (Genderless):

Stan’s genderless collection is heavily inspired by the Bumann Quilters, a group of women quilters in California. It portrays not only the work behind the quilted clothing items, but also the unity between the women and the designer Tristan Detwiler. Most items in the collection are quilted and are in earthy colors that fit perfectly in the video’s cabin setting.  In the collection, matching quilted jackets and shorts, patterned pants, and sweatshirts can be found.

TEDDY VONRANSON (Menswear): A love letter to New York City:

TEDDY VONRANSONF/W 2021/Jon Ervin

This lookbook is shot on film and follows models walking around NYC and in apartments. The models wear big scarves, plaid blazers, knitted patterned sweaters, and bright suits. “The city knows you better than any living person because it has seen you when you are alone” is a quote from The Colossus of New York by Colson Whitehead that is the foundation for this collection.

The Stolen Garment (Genderless): Lost in Translation

The Stolen Garment F/W 2021/Gun Sang PARK

The video for this collection is surreal and edited to heavily exaggerate the body and faces of the models. Both the clothes and the background music are loud and distinctive. The clothes are avant-garde and impossible to miss. Almost all the looks have pointed crowns in different colors. Jungwoo Park, the designer, was inspired by the titles of books in a bookstore in Seoul.
