edCFDA 10th Anniversary

edCFDA 10th Anniversary

The edCFDA, eyewear designers of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, are releasing a collection for their 10th anniversary. Since 2014, the council has produced countless sets of exquisite eyewear. This collection celebrates a whole decade of designer optics. Specifically, there will be six eyewear designs. Proceeds go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

In raising awareness for childhood cancer, the eyewear will have lavender tints. The edCFDA has supported charities and so it is perfect for the council to help the foundation. In addition, childhood cancer affects a great deal of the general public and this collection will help fund the foundation and its projects.

Each of the designers has a history of skilled craftsmanship and design. For instance, Patty Perreira, of Barton Perreira, opened the eyewear brand in 2007 with Bill Barton. Her designs are precise and detailed, creating the perfect glasses each time. Additionally, the eyewear for this collection has an ombre purple tone with a gemstone bridge and temples.

Blake Kuwahara, of Blake Kuwahara Eyewear, opened his business in 2015. Soon, it will be the 10th anniversary of his eyewear brand. Also, his pieces are both modern and archival all at once. The shapes are often unconventional, as seen above with the oval lenses. In addition, his design for the collection is a slightly more tinted pink.

Additionally, Gai Gherardi and Barbara McReynolds of L.A.Eyeworks are creating a design. As seen above, the shape of the eyewear follows a classic square design with a transparent outer layer. The lavender tint, to raise awareness for childhood cancer, is visible in the eyewear.

Christian Roth and Eric Domege, of Christian Roth Eyewear, are also participating in the anniversary collection. Their eyewear piece is round and simplistic. In addition, the lenses are tinted with a slight grey. Each of these designs combine luxury with precise optics. This anniversary collection for the edCFDA will be remembered for its charitable donations and its classic eyewear.
