BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Brings A Cast of Alter-Egos To self-portrait’s New Campaign
The latest campaign by London-based fashion house self-portrait, “Portraits of a Screen Star”, features none other than Jisoo of BLACKPINK. While this is not the first time Jisoo has collaborated with the fashion house for a campaign, this time around she gets to flex her acting skills in the process.
This new campaign will be released in four parts over the course of the month featuring Jisoo in various outfits and personas as seen through the lens of different imagined audition tapes.
The first installment of the campaign released earlier this week featured Jisoo portraying “The Enigma”.
“The Enigma” persona comes off as polished and reserved but with a strong sense of confidence. In the promotional video, Jisoo dons a grey button knit playsuit, red check frayed knit jacket, and a purple faux leather skirt.
The campaign series was shot in Seoul by British photographer Oliver Hadlee Pearch whose work has been featured in prominent magazines such as Vogue, i-D, and Harper’s Bazaar, along with campaigns for numerous top fashion houses.
When asked about her thoughts on the campaign, Jisoo stated “I was so excited to star in this new series of short films with Han and self-portrait. It allowed me to try something completely new and each character I played required something different from me. The evolution of the character’s wardrobe was how I found the nuance in each performance and it was a real collaboration with Han and I on finding the subtlety in each role I was going to be playing. I have worn self-portrait for many years and the pieces make me feel like I can do anything – this time, they let me dream that I could be anyone.”
The selected pieces for “The Enigma” are available now online as well as in-store at self-portrait’s locations.
