Less is not more this season! Current shoe trends are far from unadorned; we’ve seen chunky soles, intricately shaped heels, and bold animal prints. Popular shoe trends can be found on the runway or your favorite “It girl’s” Instagram page this season. What is your favorite shoe trend?
Platform Shoe Trend
Wildly popular platform shoe in the ’70s and ’90s has made a resurgence. It’s become such a fan favorite that the trend has lasted from the summer into the winter. We have seen platform sandals, heels, loafers, and boots. The platform is genderless and can be styled to fit any aesthetic skew.
Intricate Heel Trend
Say goodbye to traditional stiletto, kitten, block, and wedge heels. Architecture and weird shapes have inspired the new and improved heel. These heels have become a staple statement piece that can elevate any basic look.
Fur Footwear Trend
Sherling and faux fur have appeared in traditional footwear, and we’re not talking about sleepwear. Aside from Uggs collection of fuzzy sandals, we have now begun to see fur footwear make an appearance on the runway. During the 2021 Paris Fashion Week show Mui Mui showcased fur footwear and it has been prevalent since.
Chunky Sneaker Trend
Chunky sneakers are a polarizing footwear trend that has not gone out of style. Instead, it has become more inclusive. When thinking of chunky sneakers, most think about the very expensive Balenciaga Triple S sneaker, but affordable shoe brands such as Steve Madden have come out with a line of their own. Chunky sneakers are a streetwear fave to be enjoyed by everyone.
Combat Boot Trend
The release of the designer Bottega Veneta and Prada boots has reminded everyone of their love for military boots. Combat boots are a closet staple, whether purchasing a designer dupe or a classic pair of Dr. Martens. While lug sole combat boots are still trending, the classic combat boot also adds an edge to any look!
