14 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Angelina Galt

angelina galtModels are more than just a pretty face in an advertisement. A lot of them are entrepreneurs not only in their modeling career but in other aspects of their life. Take Angelina Galt, a spirited sensation that speaks multiple languages, learns code for fun, and is currently in the process of launching her own foundation. We had a chance to talk with her and find out more about this Russian doll.

 How did you start modeling?

I started modeling because my mother was a model when she was younger and that inspired me. I’ve always been interested in fashion and looked up to fashion icons.

What was your first big break in the industry?

A photographer reached out to my mother interested in shooting me. We went over to the studio and it was like a test shoot to dip my toes into the industry.

Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting?

Once, the day before a photoshoot, I drank a lot of carrot juice. Not on purpose, I just drank a lot of it. The next day,  my skin was a little orange and it showed in the pictures. They tried to cover it but the orange tones still came through. It was terrible. So I learned not to drink a lot of carrot juice before a shoot.

What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?

The biggest project I’m working on is building my foundation. It’s the Angelina Galt Foundation. It helps talented children reach their goals whether through financial support, schooling, or getting them started with their portfolio. Right now, we’re working on the website, the social media aspect, and the legal aspects. There is a lot of work to be done.

Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are?

Definitely my mother. I could not have done any of this without her. She has been a huge support in every single way.

What is your dream modeling job?

I would love to work with Philipp Plein, Balenciaga, and Zadig & Voltaire.

Who are your role models in fashion?

Vivienne Westwood is a huge inspiration for me. She has built such an amazing brand and is a powerful woman. I admire her brand, her business and her sense of style in fashion.

When you’re not busy modeling, what are some of your favorite things to do?

My favorite things to do are to spend time with the people I love, go to new places, and I love spending time in museums. I admire art and I think modeling and fashion are art forms.

Do you have a secret skill?

I know java script.

If you weren’t a model, what would you want to do?

If I wasn’t a model, I would be a designer. I would probably have my own clothing brand. Or I would be a writer.

What is the future of modeling?

I think that the modeling agency has changed but not enough. I’ve been working with this clothing designer Asher Levine, and he works with lab-grown leather. He also works with clothing technology that lights up. I think there is so much room for expansion.

How do you deal with all the traveling required to be a model? How do you cure jet-lag?

My cure for jet lag is citrus. Any type of citrus helps de-puff and refresh your skin.

What is your all time favorite movie and why?

My all time favorite movie is Eyes Wide Shut by Stanley Kubrick. Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise do a wonderful job in that movie.

What is in your opinion, the most challenging thing about modeling?

The amount of self-discipline it takes. I love modeling. I absolutely adore it but sometimes you have to sacrifice some things.
