Zac Efron to Star in Remake of Stephen King’s “Firestarter”

It seems Efron is a top choice for such sinister films, considering he starred as Ted Bundy in “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” last year.

Film production company’s Blumhouse and Universal are creating a new adaptation of the horror author’s novel “Firestarter”. It will be produced by Akiva Goldsman and Jason Blum, along with Scott Teems creating the script and Keith Thomas directing the project.

Although seen in other productions recently such as Netflix docuseries “Down to Earth” and is set to star in “Three Men and a Baby” on Disney+, he received a lot of criticism for his last serious role.

Efron was portrayed as a man who lured women based on his looks. This strayed away from the true meaning of Ted Bundy and how he was able to succeed as a murderer.

Although he’s been featured in tons of movies, horror may not be his gig. Can he redeem himself in this next film?
