Pete Buttigieg Takes on Fox News and Other Media

Pete Buttigieg, former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and a major advocate for the Biden Harris ticket has recently been trending on social media. After dropping out of the presidential race back in March 2020, he’s been a staunch supporter of Biden for president. He’s made many moves in the media to back their ticket and most recently, his appearance on Fox News a couple of weeks back has a lot of his fans admiring his stance on hot button issues, on Twitter and other platforms alike.

Buttigieg was asked a question about Biden’s views and how they differ from his running mate Harris, to which Buttigieg responded, “Well, there’s a classic parlor game of trying to find a little bit of daylight between running mates.” He continued to say, “And if people want to play that game, we could look into why an evangelical Christian like Mike Pence wants to be on a ticket with the president caught with a porn star, or how he feels about the immigration policy that he called ‘unconstitutional’ before he decided to team up with Donald Trump.”

It’s safe to say that this caught quite a bit of attention on social media in the past few weeks after being released and distributed all over the internet. Celebrities like Ava DuVernay have come to “stan” the speech that he delivered on Fox News by sharing clips of it on their accounts.

Buttigieg finished his speech with this, “But I think what most Americans want to hear about is: Are our families going to be better protected than they have been by this president who’s failed to secure America in the face of one of the most dangerous things ever to happen to our country?” That left both of the hosts silent. And rightfully so. Buttigieg made their lines of questioning look easy to answer and he was effortless in his responses. This isn’t his only crowning achievement either.

Recently released is a transcript from a Fox News town hall back in May of 2020 that has put a full stop to all late-term abortion questions that may come his way.

The transcript of his responses is below:

Once this transcript became viral, Buttigieg tweeted this on his Twitter account:

It is refreshing to see a politician, regardless of which side of the aisle they align with, take a stance, and have conviction about it. Plus, knowing he is a small-town politician (his presidential race aside), and this is the impact that he has on a national level, it only should make you motivated to join in on local elections. Their outcomes could affect you more than you know. But in terms of his recent appearances, post-presidential race, there was no tiptoeing around the subject, his responses in both cases were direct. And I, as many other voters feel energized with powerful content like this comes out. So, look forward to Buttigieg continuing his media circuit ahead of the November election, it seems he has plenty more to say.
