Taylor Swift possibly hints at ‘1989’ (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift hinted at releasing her re-recorded version of ‘1989’ while receiving ‘The Best Taylor Swift’ and ‘The Best Tayla Swiff’ awards at The Las Culturistas Culture Awards on Saturday, June 18th. She surprised the crowd when she appeared in two separate videos to accept her fun awards. The audience roared and applauded when she made her debut.
While giving her acceptance speech watchful Swifties spotted possible clues hinting at a release of a ‘1989’ (Taylor’s Version) album. The clues from her acceptance speech include:
Taylor Swift wears a blue vest:
In Swift’s acceptance video she is seen wearing a blue vest. This piqued the interest of fans because the vest she wore gave similar vibes to her ‘1989’ days. The color blue appears throughout her ‘1989’ album music videos.
Taylor Swift seemingly chops it off:
Swift had short hair during her ‘1989’ days. In her acceptance video she pinned her hair up in a way that made it look like she had short hair like she did in 2014. She has rocked long hair in her two albums following ‘1989’, so fans see this choice as a possible clue to an upcoming release.
Taylor Swift’s bangs:
Swift is seen with bangs in her acceptance video. She also had bangs during the time of her ‘1989’ album. Although, she has had bangs during the time of her ‘Reputation’, ‘Lover’, and ‘Evermore’ albums, but with the previous hints fans are suggesting that it all adds up to her ‘1989’ album.
The ‘1989’ sign:
Swift’s acceptance video shows a ‘1989 Secret Session’ sign in the background. The sign gave the seemingly biggest wink to Swift’s possible upcoming re-recorded album. However, the sign is not new. In fact, it is from her listening party for ‘1989’ in 2014. This could be a coincidence, but the fact that she chose to display that sign behind her in the video is suspicious to fans.
These clues may not be concrete evidence for a re-recorded ‘1989’ album, but there have been too many hints to ignore. ‘1989’ is one of her most iconic albums. The album stayed on the Billboard 200 for 11 weeks. As a result, Swift became a global icon.
Swift has made clear her intentions to re-record her previous albums following her signing to Republic Records in 2018. She is now legally the owner of all her music. She has already released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version). Swifties are now suspecting that ‘1989’ will be the next re-recorded album.
