Zayn Finds A “Love Like This” On New Single

ZAYN has returned after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus from releasing original music with a new single, “Love Like This.” The song marks the start of a new era with Mercury Records for the Bradford bad boy who last released new music in January 2021 with his contemporary R&B album, Nobody Is Listening. Zayn Malik, simply known as Zayn, first gained attention as one of the five members of One Direction. He continued to prove his talent and loyal fanbase when he embarked on his solo career in 2016, earning gold and platinum certifications in multiple countries and debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart for his first solo album, Mind of Mine. Zayn followed by building on his résumé as he collaborated on songs with artists, including Taylor Swift and Sia. His second solo album, Icarus Falls, earned many gold and platinum certifications as a 27-song double album by RCA Records.

Zayn has worked with many genres throughout his career, but he has found his niche in R&B and pop where he can demonstrate his expansive vocal range. “Love Like This,” produced by Jon Bellion and The Monsterz & Strangerz, is more of an electronic UK garage hit. Its heavy drum and bass serve as a prime pairing to the smooth lyrics. Zayn includes one of his notable high notes at the end of the last pre-chorus as he sings, “If it’s gonna mean a life that’s lived without you, baby.” The song has the catchiness and upbeat vibes that could make it the song of the summer. On the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Zayn’s first public interview in years, he described the song as, “A standalone song. It’s just a summer jam. It’s a good vibe. It just feels like summer.”

“Love Like This” is accompanied by a brand-new music video. It features Zayn and a romantic interest riding on a motorcycle through the city. Its mixture of romance, camera angles, and digital effects make it a vibrant visual.

“I’m working on my new album currently that is coming soon, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s next,” Zayn explains via Dork. “Love Like This” may be just what fans needed in the meantime until then.
