Arriving as Young Miko graces the cover of the May issue of Elle Mexico, “ID” finds the 24-year-old artist fast approaching icon status. To that end, Young Miko holds her own against Jowell y Randy (a groundbreaking Puerto Rican duo known as one of the biggest acts in reggaeton culture) lighting up the electrifying track with a one-of-a-kind vocal presence that’s explosive yet masterfully restrained. Produced by Mauro and Caleb Calloway, “ID” bubbles over with frenetic energy thanks to its ever-shifting kaleidoscope of beats, ultimately taking on an intensity that’s nothing short of euphoric.
“ID” marks the follow-up to Young Miko’s viral hit single “Lisa,” a March release whose official video has already amassed over 40 million combined global views and led to such triumphs as doubling her fanbase on multiple social platforms. Last month, Young Miko made her Latin American Music Awards debut with a showstopping performance of “Lisa”.
Next week in Providence, RI, Young Miko will kick off her 2023 world tour, including stops in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe. Now gearing up to play Sueños Festival in Chicago this Sunday, she’ll also perform at numerous festivals in Spain. See below for the first round of tour dates and venues.
One of the first openly queer musicians in the world of Latin trap, Young Miko first started making music in her late teens and soon began sharing her songs on SoundCloud. In 2022 she dropped her debut EP, TRAP KITTY, featuring her smash single “Riri” as well as hits like “Classy 101”, “Bi” and “Putero.” Young Miko’s past work also includes “Cuando Te Toca” (a 2023 collaboration with Yandel), as well as appearing as a featured artist on “Big Booty” by Hozwal.
