That Mexican OT Shares “Groovin” Video

Cruising in “spaceships” as he rhymes with an effortless drawl, That Mexican OT brings Tejano culture wherever he goes. Bringing his swangin’ Texas sound to the West Coast, OT shares “Groovin (Remix),” his latest music video. Skating atop mournful jazz horns and an effortlessly funky bassline, courtesy of producers JonnyshipesStatik SelektahOlivier Bassil & TriggMixedIt, OT uses stylish slang to explain how he likes to get faded, looking forward to a time when he makes it big and can relax: “But when I do these drugs, I’m feeling like I’m someone else/And when Virgil died, that’s when OT come alive/Birds chirping wake and bake, first thing is get high/Get her weed, get her goin’, after that I multiply,” spits OT. Shot during a recent trip to L.A., the 604 Studios-directed video for “Groovin (Remix)” finds OT and his crew hanging out in streetwear brand Pro Club‘s warehouse, intercut with OT in more familiar surroundings–on top of his Chevy with an oil drill in the background.

Along with the video, That Mexican OT announces new tour dates, starting with a show in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on November 10th. The new dates follow the completion of the Lonestar Luchador Tour,” the Bay City native’s first-ever headlining tour, which featured dozens of sold out dates and notable shows in New York (S.O.B.’s), Atlanta (Vinyl), and Los Angeles (The Echo). Check OT’s official website for dates and tickets, including shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and more.

Following recent videos for “Matagorda” ft. Hogg Booma“15 Missed Calls” ft. Sploosh God and “Skelz,” “Matagorda” is a highlight from OT’s new album Lonestar Luchador, acclaimed by Pitchfork (7.5). A concept album that draws parallels between the rap game and the high-flying world of Mexican wrestling, Lonestar Luchador is an ambitious effort that incorporates a world of wide-ranging influences and sharp pop cultural references into OT’s Texas-fried sound. Home to OT’s Billboard Hot 100 hitJohnny Dang,” which has generated over 85 million streams on YouTube and Spotify alone, plus additional highlights like the bi-lingual banger “Barrio” ft. Lefty SM, the melodic and guitar-inflected revenge anthem Breannan,” and the villainesque stomper Cowboy Killer,” Lonestar Luchador is quickly climbing charts, reaching #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and peaking at #59 on the Billboard 200. Featuring additional guest appearances from BigXThaPlug and Big YavoLonestar Luchador is available everywhere via Manifest/GoodTalk/Good Money Global.

Lonestar Luchador capitalizes on the momentum generated by “Johnny Dang,” That Mexican OT’s breakout hit, released earlier this summer. First gathering heat as a snippet on TikTok and Instagram, the Paul Wall and Drodi-featuring song spent weeks in the top ten of Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 chart, and peaked at #65on theBillboard Hot 100 chart (where it currently sits at #78), #14 on the Hot Rap Songs chart and #19 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. OT’s “From The Ranch” version of “Johnny Dang” recently caught viral traction on Twitter, inspiring “From The Block” filmmaker AZae to bring OT back for a second “From The Ranch,” this time for a performance of “Cowboy Killer.”

This fall, That Mexican OT completed the Lonestar Luchador Tour,” the Bay City native’s first-ever headlining tour. Commencing on September 10th in Denver, CO, the “Lonestar Luchador Tour” criss-crossed the country for 19 dates, stopping in New York (S.O.B.’s), Atlanta (Vinyl), and Los Angeles (The Echo) before concluding in Oakland on October 4th.
