Strainjer Shares New Single

Timothy Layne released his new single titled “Cherry’s Bent” in July via his newly formed electro glam band, Strainjer. “Cherry’s Bent” ingeniously blends elements of electronic music and rock. It’s already making some noise on Spotify, where it has over 10,000 streams.

“Cherry’s Bent” also now has a video treatment that will be released on Friday, October 7th. The beautiful video takes you on a trip – to say the least. The glitzy, glam rock video is a borderline comedy adventure that depicts Timothy’s encounters with girls and police in Grand Theft Auto-esque landscapes. Also, Strainjer is not shy about showing off some dance moves.

Beginnings with The Golden Pony

Timothy Layne, founder of Elements Music Fest’s, and Thomas Murphy burst onto the scene in 2014 under the alias of The Golden Pony. They began by remixing bootleg classics like Simon & Garfunkel’s “Sound of Silence” and Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”. Firstly, Timothy and Thomas were a DJ duo touring places like Moscow, Okeechobee Festival, and Burning Man.

The curly headed duo from Brooklyn, NY continued creating and added explosive future bass and indie pop to their catalogue. Some of The Golden Pony’s originals featured vocalists such as Great Good Fine Ok, Savoir Adore, and Dasha Akelin. Also, since the duo’s inception, they have garnered a robust following and aren’t losing any steam. For example, their Soundcloud has 46,000 followers and one of their songs has 9.5 million listens.

The Birth of STRAINJER

In turning more towards the indie rock side of things, Timothy Layne now leads in a band called Strainjer. In “Cherry’s Bent”, this new band is accompanied by addictive grooves, pop charm, and guitar riffs that are dance inducing. With no shortness of the weirdness and quirk from Timothy’s previous duo, it is clear that Strainjer is a step up in many ways.
