Rising Singer Sienna Spiro Releases Debut Single
Today, London-based singer/songwriter SIENNA SPIRO shares her debut single “NEED ME” — a stunning introduction to the 18-year-old artist’s timeless yet unforgettably fresh sound. Accompanied by a captivating video, “NEED ME” spotlights the soulful voice and straight-from-the-heart lyrics that have already won admiration from the likes of SZA, Snoh Aalegra and more.
A slow-burning piano ballad showcasing SIENNA’s supreme vocal command, “NEED ME” marks the long-awaited debut from a DIY-minded artist whose one-of-a-kind voice earned her a massive online following before ever sharing her original music. Co-written by SIENNA (who first started writing songs when she was just 10-years-old), the beautifully bittersweet track perfectly channels the pain of heartbreak and the desperation of longing, thanks to the incredible nuance of her vocal work.
In bringing “NEED ME” to life, SIENNA worked with producer Yakob (SZA, Kali Uchis, Lauv) and dreamed up an understated but exquisitely lush sound informed by her longtime love of jazz and soul. With its tender background harmonies and quietly soaring strings, the result is a gorgeously raw outpouring that immediately casts a powerful spell.
Directed by Relta and captured in a single take, the video for “NEED ME” finds SIENNA alone in a kitchen entirely decked out in blood-red crimson (her signature color). As the up-close and intimate visual unfolds, SIENNA adds another layer of unbridled feeling and intensity to the song, at one point singing into the mirror and smashing a crystal glass in her hands. By the end of “NEED ME,” SIENNA’s surroundings have fallen apart around her, leaving her in a state of striking vulnerability.
Raised on classic artists like Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Whitney Houston, and Amy Winehouse, SIENNA recently took the stage at Rae’s London and delivered a crowd-thrilling solo piano version of “NEED ME.” SIENNA’s latest triumphs include surpassing 4.9 million views on TikTok with her dazzling cover of Donald Glover’s “Redbone,” while garnering more than 6 million views on “NEED ME”-related content prior to the song’s premiere. She is currently at work on more music due out soon.
