Kanye West As An Influencer
Kanye West, nicknamed Ye, seizes opportunities to create publicity methodically. He is a “Jack of All Trades” because he ventures into different brands, organizations, and community outreach programs.
However, Kanye has released one of the most listened to and controversial albums of the past few years in August of 2021. The message that Kanye was trying to evoke is heavily debated on the internet. The album, Donda, includes twenty-seven songs, totaling to an hour and forty-eight minutes long. Kanye can be seen wearing a black mask on several occasions. His intent is to “put God at the top,” as referenced during a talk with a fan in San Antonio, TX.
West considered himself the “slave to fashion” when he emerged in the fashion/rap arena in 2002. His shoe deals are a big part of his revenue services since launching his first clothing line in 2006, entitled “Pastelle.” Later Nike and Ye collaborated to create the expensive everyday shoes called Yeezys. His love for shoes has since grown and was reflected by his signing of deals with Louis Vuitton, BAPE, and Giuseppe Zanotti. West doesn’t have the best public relations tactics to follow after. He has spectators outside of his house every morning and a love life that is followed closely by media paparazzi.
Along with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, the famous rapper unveiled a Kanye West clothing line exclusively for kids in May 2017 called Kids Supply. Kanye has been vocal about how the media is trying to create a negative connotation around his image. Nevertheless, he continues to shine his light through religious music and social media. Ye has shifted his rap techniques to capture more meaningful verses and representations of how religion can affect people’s lives. North West, Kanye’s daughter, was seen wearing a Long Lost Brand to fashion week in Paris. West and Kardashians’ are both known to be fashion brand ambassadors.
Kanye has been nominated for several awards in 2022 for his projects.
