On the 10th anniversary of his legendary album, Channel Orange, Frank Ocean released two new episodes on blonded Radio. Ocean produced the backing tracks to the conversations he had with two professionals on psychedelics and Qigong, respectively. The songs produced for the shows include deep house beats with some trance-like moments that match the topic of conversation.

The first of the two episodes released features psychologist and writer Dr. James Fadiman. Titled “Blonded Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” Ocean and Dr. Fadiman discuss micro-dosing and psychedelic drugs, with Ocean commenting on his own experiences with them.

Fans think that Ocean may have hinted at a new project coming soon after mentioning he’s been “working on something” in Malibu, California.

When describing his thoughts on psychedelics he mentioned, “I was working in Malibu this summer and I would go out, like, pretty late from the studio and there’s, like, a big population of coyotes in Malibu, and then when I would go outside I would see, like, all these bunnies running around and it reminded me of video games where you’re, like, a wizard or something. And you’re playing this role in this game and you’re running around and you have these little things to pick up and put in the pouch.”

With his last release having been in December of 2021, fans hope that Ocean’s time in the studio has something to do with his next highly anticipated album.

In the second episode, Ocean chats with Master Mingtong Gu, a specialist in the Chinese healing practice Qigong. Both of the new episodes focus on the concept of healing and recovering. This common theme could relate to Ocean’s personal experience with healing after his brother, Ryan Breaux, was passed in a fatal car accident in 2020.

While some are thrilled to even hear Ocean’s voice at any capacity, other fans are disappointed at the release. Many of Ocean’s supporters have been itching for new music from the artist, and the radio episodes left some fans underwhelmed.

However, disappointed fans can still get their hands on new merchandise from their favorite artist. The items include blonded Radio t-shirts and a double-sided Channel Orange poster.
