Master of epic collaborations, Calvin Harris, has done it again with his new track, “Stay With Me.” With the help of Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, and Halsey, Harris has produced the ultimate disco track likely to be crowned the song of the summer.

The song is the third and final single in the rollout for Harris’ sixth studio album. Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 is set to release on August 5th via Columbia Records. Previously, Harris teased the record with “Potion” featuring Dua Lipa and “New Money” with rapper 21 Savage.

The unlikely quartet had many fans on social media confused and intrigued. Harris did not disappoint and proved his adeptness at making his projects eye-catching with his features. Harris has worked with Pharrell before, specifically on Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1. This is his first time collaborating with Timberlake and Halsey.

A music video for the new track perfectly illustrates the song’s vibe. The neon colors in the video scream summer and hypnotic kaleidoscopic visual effects help bring the song to life.

Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 will continue Harris’ post-EDM journey with funk music. Although electronic dance music brought Harris into the global spotlight, he grew a strong apathy towards the genre over the years. In an interview with Mixmag, he revealed, “End of 2016 I was like I hate this EDM thing. I think it’s absolute… you know what I mean? I absolutely hate it I think it’s awful.” This revelation changed his approach to producing and helped him pivot dramatically to funk and disco with his 2017 record, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1. Further, Harris explained the possibilities and risk taking that could take place by opening up to different sounds. “I was like ‘You know what I’m just going to do whatever I want and I’m going to spend all the money I’m making in Vegas on features and I’m going to get everyone to do a hip-hop album… I’m going to put Young Thug on a Motown Funk tune because no one else will…”
