Cade Hoppe’s Single “Hurts” Is A Hit

Cade Hoppe has released his new single  “Hurts”. The song gets Hoppe’s 2022 off to a great start after he ended last year on a high note with the December release of his debut EP ‘Tell Me How It’s Worth It”.

The song is written from the point of view of someone going through the grieving stage of a breakup. The person has tried aggressively to move on and get their former partner out of their head, but nothing works. Hoppe drives this point home in the chorus when he sings, “I don’t know which is worse, to try to move on or to reverse, cause nothing seems to be helping it all just hurts.”

When speaking about his new song, Hoppe elaborated, “‘Hurts’ is about experiencing that strange post-relationship purgatory for the first time and realizing that anyone you love is going to hurt to lose, whether you were both meant to be or not. The thesis of this song is: ‘It’s not easy losing somebody, it always hurts.’ I think we all have to learn that lesson at some point in our lives and this song is about when I learned it for myself.”

The singer originally resided in Sacramento, California until he moved to New York. This move was not music-related, but to desire athletic and academic opportunities.

The 22-year-old could play multiple instruments and has been writing songs since childhood, but he never took music seriously. This was until 2020 when he collaborated with his stepbrother, Nick Adams, and started curating and releasing music. Through this collaboration, Hoppe was able to get in contact with producer Harper James who is one-half of the indie-pop group Eighty Ninety.

Hoppe is making strong strides to obtain more attention. We will see what the singer has in store for the remainder of the year.
