KIMEZE, Inclusive Eyewear Brand

KIMEZE, Inclusive Eyewear Brand

A world-first innovation in eyewear

KIMEZE has been offering a new perspective on eyewear. KIMEZE is the world’s first eyewear brand specifically for Black and brown facial features.

An inclusive eyewear brand

The brand started from the idea that eyewear companies did not design sunglasses and opticals for black and brown customers. KIMEZE’s Co-founders, sisters Clare and Christina Kimeze noticed that 1 billion people had been completely forgotten when it came to designing the fit of eyewear. Through their research, they discovered that most eyeglasses feature a narrow fit for Caucasian. And there had been an East Asian fit since the 80s, but there was nothing on the market specifically designed for them. They, therefore, created their own brand that designs glasses to fit Black and brown nose bridges. Launched in 2021, they offered diverse options for more people to have a choice in their eyewear purchases.

Handmade eyewear in Italy

As a British luxury brand, the brand combines craftsmanship with luxurious materials, while suggesting statement style, everyday versatility, and exceptional quality at its core. Also, the brand designs each collection crafted in Italy.

KIMEZE

British and African heritage

Inspired by both London and Africa, the eyewear features a range of African features as the benchmark. The brand designs innovative, fashion-forward glasses to fit a wider range of facial features. Meanwhile, the brand landed in NET-A-PORTER past summer, and they have been redefining the eyewear industry.

About the designer

British-Uganda sisters, Clare and Christina Kimeze founded KIMEZE in 2021. Before the launch of the brand, the Oxford graduates had no prior experience or expertise in the eyewear business. Clare was a former Canary Wharf financial analyst while Christina was and still is an artist. However, they ended up launching the inclusive eyewear brand to offer more choice for black consumers.
