Main St. in Whitefish, MT

If you’re not planning to camp in the park and you’re not sure about where to stay, take a look at the town of Whitefish. This small, picturesque city is perfect because it is home to several gorgeous lodges where you can book a room. It is also within great driving distance of the west entrance to Glacier. If you decide to spend a day in town, you can browse the shops on Main Street, go for a swim in Whitefish Lake, or go mountain biking at the resort just north of the city.

Glacier National Park

The highlight of any trip to Glacier

Once you make it into the park itself, the highlight of your visit will certainly be the Going-to-the-Sun Road, an incredibly scenic drive that will take you thousands of feet up over the continental divide and back down to the other end of the park. Be prepared for a couple hours of driving, plus any stops you choose to make for a hike or short walk. Just make sure you bring your nicest camera because you will not want to miss these views!
