Russia Invades Ukraine creating a war of aggression
Russia invades Ukraine with airstrikes, tanks, and troops.
On February 23, 2022 President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia created war against the Ukraine. Putin announced on television that this is the start of a “special military operation” in Ukraine.
This “special military operation” includes Russia deploying tanks and troops across Ukraine’s boarder. In addition sent air strikes to the capital Kyiv and other cities, forcing a “full scale invasion.”
This war of aggression arrived shortly after Putin revealed not “tolerating” Ukraine’s threats. This further ledUkraine to declaring martial law and called for international support against Russia.
However, Putin confirms the targets are military facilities such as aircrafts, airfield, and anti-aircraft systems. Putins purpose of invasion is to “demilitarize and denazify Ukraine” and bring its leaders to trial.
Ukraine’s boarder patrol reported that troops came under attack all along the country’s frontiers with Russia and Belarus as well as Crimea.
Afterwards Air-raid sirens sounded in Kyiv after 7 a.m. and the city’s airport was under attack. Still, Ukraine’s military said it shot down five Russian warplanes and one helicopter. Putin denied the damages.
President Biden introduced this invasion as unjust and unprovoked against the Ukraine.
“President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering,” he said in a statement. Specifically Before 6 a.m. Moscow time Putin reminded outside powers not to interfere.
Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba said on Twitter. “This is a war of aggression Ukraine stands tall against the combat and oppression of Russia.”
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared to the public, “Don’t panic. We are strong, […]ready for everything. We will defeat everyone. Because we are Ukraine.”
