Taco Bell’s Upcoming Menu Changes

Taco Bell’s Upcoming Menu Changes

By Samantha Krevolin

It’s time to bang the iconic bell, as heard in many of its commercials, to announce some sad news; Taco Bell is eliminating some of their iconic items from their menu as of August 13th nationwide. Taco Bell is one of the most popular fast-food chains in the country, so many customers are understandably saddened to see their favorite specialties go. Rumors about this change started to spread on social media platforms earlier this week, including Twitter and Reddit. Unfortunately, a Taco Bell spokesperson confirmed that like many of the other sad stories of 2020, the rumors are true and the menu is being changed.

On August 13th, the new menu will be installed and some of Taco Bell’s classics will be gone from all chains. This modification will allow for all Taco Bell stores to have what they call a more “streamline menu”. As a result of the pandemic and increased use of drive-throughs, it makes the most sense to have a more succinct menu to allow for faster take out.

There are confirmed items from all sections of the menu to be taken off. Sad to say there will be no more Grilled Steak Soft Tacos, 7-Layer Burritos, Quesaritos, Nachos Supremes, Beefy Fritos Burritos, Spicy Tostadas, Triple Layer Nachos, Spicy Potatoes Soft Tacos, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, Loaded Grillers (Cheesy Potato, Beefy Nacho), Chips & Dips, and Mini Skillet Bowls from the breakfast menu. Unfortunately, all potato items on the menu seem to be gone this August.

From these changes, it is important to note that there are some positives. The Quesarito is an all-time favorite, as demonstrated by the backlash Taco Bell has been facing from customers’ angry and upset social media posts about it being taken off the menu. Although, customers should keep in mind that the Quesarito may not be available on the menu, but it will still be available on Taco Bell’s website and app when ordering ahead of time. Also, it is important that the Chips & Dip is not confused with the Chips & Cheese, which will still be on the cravings menu.

Taco Bell still has some classics that are here to stay including the Doritos Locos Tacos, Shredded Chicken Quesadilla, and Crunchwrap Supreme. Make sure to go to Taco Bell in the next few weeks before it’s time to say goodbye to potatoes, 7-Layer Burritos, and Quesaritos on the go for now.
