Miu Miu SS24 Collection

Miu Miu SS24 Collection

Closing Paris Fashion Week, Miuccia Prada’s brand Miu Miu has stunned all with their latest collection. Taking place in the capital’s Palais D’lena art museum, the venue was covered in grand columns and scenery. Established in 1992, the Italian brand is the runway for all things creative. “Intentionally far from traditional aesthetic imagery, the brand conveys the essence of an emancipated and conscious woman. Miu Miu’s strength fluctuates between naïf spirit and iridescent subversion and it illustrates the most rebellious and seductive core of contemporary femininity.” Through short skirts and mini bags, Miu Miu is always in style for the It Girls.

Am I Back In Prep School?

The Spring/Summer 2024 collection transported me back to prep school. The preppy aesthetic was reminiscent of school uniforms I wore years ago in middle school, giving the collection a Gossip Girl level of chic. There is one crucial difference between my uniform experience and Miu Miu’s fashion show: the skirt lengths. No matter how much us girls wanted to roll up our skirts, we would always find ourselves in trouble. At Paris Fashion Week, however, dress coding was never an option. The mini navy skirts paired with collared polos and blazers was a risky fashion choice that was pulled off surprisingly well.

Low Rise Everything

But besides curating a private school aesthetic, Miuccia Prada incorporated a variety of low rise skirts with comically large belts, adding dimension to the outfit itself. Matching sets littered the runway, and each shoe choice felt slightly out of place in the best way possible. This mustard yellow look reveals the model’s purposely shown undergarments, adding layers to an eye-catching fit. To top it all off, the model sported flip flops with rope tied around their ankles. Although confusing, Miuccia Prada pulls this ensemble off perfectly, separating him from the rest.
