Dennis Basso Runway Show NYFW FALL 22
As week one of New York Fashion Week concludes, designers such as Dennis Basso gave us a taste of what’s in store for week two. On Sunday, Basso presented an exhibition inspired by “New York Moments,” a collection for the intelligent, savvy, and strong New York woman. Basso believes that women worldwide have a desire for New York style and designed the collection with these ladies in mind.
“Dedication to creation at the highest level in producing the finest in luxury goods has been the Dennis Basso mission, since the birth of this unique brand.”
To complement the collection’s mature and opulent aesthetic, the showcase took place at the luxurious Pierre Hotel. Although mature, Dennis Basso’s Fall Winter 2022 collection blended sophistication with playful elements.
His designs captured the essence of femininity and womanhood, whether reflecting the downtown or uptown woman. In doing so, the collection featured jumpsuits, one-shoulder gowns, knee-length cocktail dresses, and trousers, all of which represented day-to-night looks. The collection’s accent is its diversity of fabric from guipure lace to sable, chinchilla, mink, and broadtail fur, feather, and sequins.
“The shapes reflect a downtown sensibility married with an uptown flair.”
Before fashion week, it was predicted that the fall 22 trends would include fuzzy/fluffy textures, feathers, puffers, and opera gloves. Basso delivered in highlighting these trends throughout his collection. The looks included fur jackets, puffer jackets, feather trim, and opera gloves for multiple ensembles. Bold floral prints and v-cut necks were other elements of playfulness and youth incorporated into the line.
The colors used in this collection also resembled those in the Pantone Color Trend Report for NYFW fall 2022. There were shades similar to Lava Falls, Polar Night, Rose Violet, Samoan Sun, and Arctic Wolf.
