Brooks Brothers SS27: Reimagines American Classics

Brooks Brothers returned to New York Fashion Week with a celebration of American style, presenting its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Radio Park in Rockefeller Center. Under the creative direction of Michael Bastian, the heritage brand looked to more than two centuries of history while giving its most recognizable codes a fresh, contemporary perspective.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Bastian revisited signatures that have defined Brooks Brothers for generations, including the iconic button-down collar shirt, which the house introduced in 1900. Seersucker, madras, double-breasted jackets, cricket embroidery and novelty sweaters also appeared throughout the collection, bringing renewed energy to staples of the classic American summer wardrobe.

The season drew inspiration in part from Monaco during the early 1980s, when pop culture, classic Americana and Riviera style collided internationally. That influence translated into a collection that felt polished without becoming overly formal, with the men’s and women’s looks sharing an easy, fluid approach to styling.

Bastian emphasized the idea of making familiar pieces feel personal rather than prescribing a single way to wear them. Strong color blocking, layering, and an intentionally relaxed attitude allowed Brooks Brothers classics to take on a more modern identity while remaining connected to the house’s history.

The collection also introduced a capsule collaboration with upcycling artist Jack Wooster, who transformed several classic Brooks Brothers pieces with his signature artistic perspective. Even the house’s famous Golden Fleece icon received a playful update, with Wooster’s barking dog replacing the traditional sheep within the ribbon.

Beyond the clothes, the presentation brought together fashion, entertainment, sports and culture. Guests throughout the afternoon included Supriya Ganesh of The Pitt, Claybourne Elder of The Gilded Age, Charlie Georgio of Love Island, Egor Demin of the Brooklyn Nets, actor Jack Falahee, Broadway’s Constantine Rousouli, James Blake, former professional tennis player, and model and singer Baptiste Giabiconi.

Guests also enjoyed the signature Sarti Spritz, courtesy of Campari Group, which served as the featured cocktail for the Spring/Summer 2027 presentation.

More than simply looking into its archives, Brooks Brothers used Spring/Summer 2027 to demonstrate how heritage can continue to evolve. The collection maintained the confidence and craftsmanship associated with the brand while showing that American classics don’t have to remain frozen in time. For Bastian, preserving Brooks Brothers’ history means finding new ways to build upon it, and this season brought that philosophy directly into the present.
