Belgian elegance and sophistication was on full display  at the Pamella Roland Fall/Winter 2024 Runway Show during New York Fashion Week. Held on Monday, February 12th, at 3 PM at Starrett-Lehigh, located at 601 West 26th St, the event attracted a distinguished guest list including Kelly Rutherford, Elizabeth Gilles, Nicky Hilton, Misty Copeland, Janelle James, and Ubah Hassan.

Drawing inspiration from her recent journey to Belgium, a romantic and gorgeous city, Pamella Roland’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection seamlessly blends the country’s historical charm with modern elegance. The collection features a refined color palette, exquisite silhouettes, and intricate embroideries, capturing the essence of Brussels’ timeless beauty.

Bronze tones, shades of red, wine, luxurious gold, and chocolate brown dominate the palette, alongside sunset hues and soft pastels such as ice blue, blush, ivory, and light nude tones. The silhouettes pay homage to Brussels’ architectural marvels, with structured lines and draping inspired by the city’s intricate buildings.

Luxurious textures like velvet, sequins, and jacquard fabrics enhance the collection’s allure, reflecting the plush ambiance of Brussels’ historic interiors. Pamella Roland’s signature embroideries reflect the city’s intricate architecture and classic romance, offering a captivating blend of tradition and modernity.

The show’s credits include makeup by Amway, Artistry & Rick DiCecca, hair by Beppe D’Elia, nails by Pattie Yankee, jewelry by Chopard, set design by Edward Ross, lighting design by Thierry Dreyfus, music by Javier Peral, and production by Eyesight Group. Runway photography was by Karolina Hrishka of Go Runway, while front row photography was by Darian DiCianno of BFA.

Pamella DeVos, President and Designer of PAMELLA ROLAND, channels her artistic appreciation and creativity into all of her collections, finding inspiration throughout her life and the world at large. PAMELLA ROLAND debuted its Fall 2002 collection to a warm reception from critics and buyers alike. That positive response has grown significantly to the present, making PAMELLA ROLAND a label of choice among retailers and A-list celebrities. In 2010, Pamella was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

Here at The Garnette Report we had the pleasure of speaking to Pamella Roland, before  her NYFW 2024 A/w  show and learn more about her newest collection.

Zoey:  What was the main inspiration behind your newest collection?

Pamella Roland: The inspiration is Belgium, I was in Paris for Paris week with my daughter and she was like we should go somewhere else. right across the border is Brussels. so being there is such inspiration, I mean the building are beautiful and city so interesting. It’s kinda a romantic city, It gave me a lot of ideas. I took a lot of photos, actually my daughter did ( she is more of photographer than me) I brought the photos back and use the colors and various thing as inspiration for things for this collection.

Zoey:

Were there any particular challenges you faced during the design process of this collection?

Pamella Roland: Actually can tell you that the wedding dress look was so difficult to create! It has so much hand beading it was just this morning. It was a lot work.

Zoey: Are there any standout pieces in this collection that you love?  or key elements within the collection that you’re particularly excited about?

Pamella Roland: all of them, I mean is one look suiting with a green cape attached, look over there you see that red dress also a favorite. it’s just too many to name.
