AKNVAS hugs minimalism and comfort FW 2021

Designed by Christian Juuls Nielsen, AKNVAS releases its Fall/Winter collection during New York Fashion Week. The show took place on the digital show series Runway 360 by CFDA. This collection highlights predilected features such as minimalism and comfortability.

The line counts 24 pieces for the womenswear collection and 15 garments for the men’s section. This year’s digital debut was directed and edited by Cyril Guyot, with the presence of young talents Veronika Vilim and Daniel Van Der Deen). In 2 minutes it is possible to be immersed in the geometric and aethereal AKNVAS universe.

There are crisp and bright colors that go from celestial blue to bubblegum pink, with intermissions of canary and dark yellow, along with deep red, earthy orange, and grey. This vast spectrum of colors and patterns is enriched by mixed ensembles and creative combinations of materials and shapes.

The styles represented the urban lifestyle of Danish director Nielsen, whose idea was to create a brand that would enhance the daily life of any young Western professional. With the current pandemic, this idea still persists in Nielsen’s vision.

Movement is the protagonist of this video where clothes are showcased with rhythmic choreographies and aerobics moves performed by the models. Their agility shows the oversized clothes and the light yet dense materials present in each piece.

In addition to his work for AKNVAS, Nielsen is at the head of the curation of Hervé Léger. Celebrities like Kate Bosworth, Emily Blunt, and Emilia Clark are regular aficionados of the brand. Nielsen’s background with Nina Ricci, Dior, and fashion major names like John Galliano and Raf Simons, shaped his long-term experience in fashion. Nielsen was able to translate all his lessons to a brand of its own.
