Willie Norris For Outlier Collection Debuts

Starting July 18, up-and-coming designer Willie Norris and fashion brand Outlier are premiering their anticipated collaboration. Norris is a transfeminine fashion designer and uses LGBTQ influences and experiences in her work. This project is an eight-piece capsule and will be perfect for this year’s summer. This collaboration is the first of six and each of the following collections will be premiering every six months. Norris is a designer, muse, and model for the Willie Norris For Outlier collection and is helping put a new spin on the brand.

Outlier has made a name for itself in unique menswear since 2008. Norris is taking that concept to the next level. The brand uses many one-of-a-kind materials, with Norris favoring the INJEX polyester linen. Look out for that material in the collaboration in items from sleek blazers to professional pants. In addition, Outlier’s SUPERMARINE fabric will play quite a part in this collection, particularly in a stylish new bag that can tie a look together. New Outlier fabrics, such as ACRISPCOTTON cotton and HEMPMARINE cotton and hemp blend, will debut with Norris. Outlier goes big with their materials, and Norris is right there with them.

In addition to the creative fabrics, Norris and Outlier are adding some special touches to this collection. These touches are called “Willie Specials.” They include many shoulder pads, bright red stitching, self-covered buttons, and subtle seam finishings. Norris gives her own touch with these “specials”. They demonstrate the up close care she took with her designs.

Norris wants the collection to be fluid and one of a kind. When speaking about it, she stated, “This first installment of this collaboration, for SUMMER 2023, is meant to capture the fluidity, modularity, and particularity that lay as core tenets of my personal wardrobe and dressing style. This isn’t menswear, this isn’t womenswear. This is what Willie wears.”

Outlier is undoubtedly excited about this collaboration. They see Norris’s work as a natural fit. Abe Burmeister, a cofounder of Outlier, exclaimed, “In a world entranced by novelty, we are always looking for the truly material, the differences that actually make a difference, and that’s the Willie touch.” Furthermore, co-founder Tyler Clemens agreed with that sentiment and declared, “The culmination of eight years of building in the Outlier universe of materials and focus on details comes to an apex as Willie presents a precise, studied offering of what Outlier is and how she sees it.”
