Krishita Shetty Is An International on The Rise
Krishita Shetty is a rising star in the modeling world. Models.com recently highlighted her as an MDCSelect – rookie models that have made a good impression.
She was born in Mumbai, India, in 1998. Krishita came from a family of academics with no connections to the industry. She is classically trained in traditional Indian dance. As a child, she also participated in track and today, incorporates kickboxing in her training routine. Despite graduating from law school in 2022 she chose to pursue modeling. She is also the only creative in her family. She calls her decision “controversial albeit brave.”
Career
Since then, she has worked with some of the biggest names in the fashion industry, including Manish Malhotra in 2022. She became a Sabyasachi bride and modeled for the brand’s heritage collection. Shetty has walked the runway at various fashion weeks including India Fashion Week, and Amazon India Fashion Week. She has also appeared in campaigns for various Indian beauty brands.
Since her career is mainly based in India, she often models for traditional and bridal clothing. But she is quickly making strides in the international scene. She was highlighted by the Models.com and is also represented by European management.
She is part of a new generation of models that can enter the industry despite their age or ethnicity. For many decades, models came from financially insecure backgrounds and started out extremely young. Shetty, on the other hand, chose to transition into fashion and reject a traditional career path.
When she reflects back on the beginning of her career, she is most appreciative of the new experiences she has had. She says, “All the experiences I’ve had meeting new people are all things I consider my most prized possessions.”
