Tyler, the Creator Golf Wang x Converse By You
Tyler, the Creator is returning to the footwear industry via his Golf Wang label in collaboration with Converse. Fans were invited to customize their own Chuck 70 shoes. The creators chose different Golf Wang logos and patterns from over the years. The “One Star Brand” reintroduced Golf Wang archives to accompany six base colors.

This new collaboration allowed the possibility of 100,000 unique styles to be created. No low-top Converse Chuck 70’s were available. We can assume this was to allow for maximum canvas space. This collaboration allowed fans to create a very unique shoe. Tyler, the Creator, and Converse formed this partnership in 2017. Since then, the two have released a series of different classic silhouettes.
About Tyler, the Creator, and Golf Wang Brand
The Golf Wang brand started around 2011. This brand grew from the Odd Future movement. Tyler found ways to incorporate his style, full of oversized tees, bold colors, and stripes. In an interview with Vogue, Tyler talked about his process of coming up with new designs. The artist said he likes to draw everything out before making it. “From videos to clothes to certain shots for my pictures, I usually draw everything out. I’m actually a designer.”
When talking about the colorways he uses he mentions his likeness to bold colors. In addition, tying into his creative work as a musician he says, “colors play such a big part in my music and the way I think about things. They bring out certain moods.” He has expressed his creative visions through not only his music but the Golf Wang brand as well.
