Timothée Chalamet Is The Face of Bleu De Chanel
In a series of posts on Instagram, actor and it-boy Timothée Chalamet confirmed his upcoming collaboration with Chanel. The French fashion house has tapped Chalamet to be the face of Bleu de Chanel, a men’s fragrance.

The upcoming advertisement feature blue rays tinting the actor’s face as he gazes at the audience with soulful eyes. Photographer and director Mario Sorrenti directs one ad while Martin Scorcese directs another. Chanel describes the fragrance as having a refined essence, with notes of citrus and sandalwood. It is according to the fashion house, “A meeting of strength and elegance.”
This past April, Chalamet was also seen gallivanting the streets of New York City with director Martin Scorsese filming another Chanel commercial. Shots of the 27-year-old actor on the subway in leather or escaping rain in a suit flooded social media afterwards.
Critics and magazines often cite Chalamet as a budding fashion icon. In 2019, Vogue deemed him “the most influential man in fashion”. In 2020, GQ named him one of the best-dressed men in the world. But this is his first major brand deal with a fashion house. The specific collaboration with Chanel is also no surprise. Chanel is one of the foremost French brands in the world and Chalamet’s French-ness is part of his charm.
Aside from his ancestry, the actor’s experimentalism on the red carpet makes him fit for a Chanel ambassadorship. Chalamet breaks the tradition of a plain black suit and incorporates elements of androgyny in his looks. Chanel’s founder Coco Chanel also introduced elements of masculinity in womenswear and also didn’t adhere to traditional interpretations of clothing.
The stint with Chanel could be a one-time role, but it also seems like this relationship could be the the start of a long term relationship.
