The Fashion at the 2023 CFDA Awards
The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards has hosted their annual event at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City this year. One of the biggest nights in fashion, the CFDA awards is The Oscars of American fashion. Celebrities flocked to uptown Manhattan on Monday evening, where Serena Williams was crowned Fashion Icon, presented by Kim Kardashian. Everyone was dressed to the nines. Let’s take a look at the iconic red carpet fashion.
Lola Tung was the star of the evening, wowing the crowd with her beaded Balmain Fall/Winter 2023 look. The Summer I Turned Pretty actress stunned in her glamorous glory, reminiscent of Kim Kardashians’ famous 2019 MET Gala dress. Sheer in all the right places, the dress flattered her body type perfectly. Topped off with a classic red lip for some edge and a slicked back bun for simplicity, it’s safe to say that Lola Tung won the red carpet that night.
Although, Madelyn Cline is a close runner up, the Outer Banks actress dressed in a similar manner, wearing an embellished Oscar de la Renta gown. Completely silver and sparkly, it is evident which metallic is in style for the 2023/2024 season. Strapless dresses are making a comeback as well, but in my opinion, they never should’ve left. Cline glimmers in this flawless dress.
Emma Chamberlain wore a statement Thom Browne dress with cutouts, giving a Parisian vibe. Embellished with a black bow, another popular trend of the season, Chamberlain’s dress diverts from her typical style and brought a corseted edge to the carpet this year. I’m obsessed with the simplicity of this look. Watch out millennials—Gen Z is the next generation of fashion icons.
