The 5 Shoe Trends For Spring/Summer 2024

The 5 Shoe Trends For Spring/Summer 2024

As the Spring/Summer season gets closer, it’s only right to begin deciding which shoe trends are must-haves to splurge on. There are multiple spring/summer closet staples one should always have in rotation all season long, which can also carry over into other seasons. But last year’s spring/summer 2024 ready-to-wear collections on the runway saw the arrival of a few newcomers to consider adding into the mix. Footwear is one of the most integral aspects to putting a cohesive look together, and we’ve rounded up the five most optimal pairs.

FLATS WITH CHARACTER

It seems next to impossible to look anywhere this season without seeing someone wearing a pair of Mary Janes or Ballerina flats, which explains why they’re trending right now. Think those mesh Alaia ones worn by Rihanna and Kourtney Kardashian. Or maybe a pair with cheetah print, crochet, metallics, or a pop of red, instead of lighter pastel colors.

A SIMPLE SLINGBACK

Trade in the classic pump for this season’s newest mainstay: slingback heels. While they were first popularized in the 1950s, the slingbacks trend has been predicted in trend forecasts for the past few seasons – especially during 2024 Fashion Week. From the understated to unique, this season’s slingbacks can be worn in every height desired, as well as flats.

DISCREETLY HIGH HEELS

If you’re tired of sky-high stilettos, opt for their counterpart this season: kitten heels. The lower-heeled shoes are comfortable, elevated, and fashionable, giving the illusion of one’s height sans the pain and discomfort. Sport these chic, yet stylish shoes, preferably with a rounded almond toe shape, in a multitude of styles for any look or outfit.

SLIP-ON MULES

One of many staples for the spring/summer seasons are slip-on mules, namely for their convenience and versatility. Mules are perfectly crafted for warmer weather, protecting the front of your feet with a closed-toe upper, while leaving room from the back of them to breathe with the open back. Ease into the season with this universal classic which is proven to go with almost everything you own.

RETRO TRAINERS

A good pair of sneakers is essential to have in your closet year-round. But this season we’re reviving a plethora of retro, vintage-inspired styles. Many designers and consumers alike enjoy incorporating a sneaker into a look due to its functionality and fashion forward value, which is why this not-so-new style is gaining traction once again.
